Background
Since 2018, CwPAMS grants have focused on improving AMS, developing pharmacy expertise and capacity, and supporting IPC initiatives. The programme aims to leverage the expertise of UK health institutions and technical experts to strengthen the capacity of the health workforce and institutions in Commonwealth countries, supporting them to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) challenges, a leading public health threat across the world, as well as creating opportunities for bidirectional learning.
CwPAMS is funded by the UK Department of Health and Social Care’s Fleming Fund. The Fleming Fund is a UK aid programme supporting up to 25 countries across Africa and Asia to tackle AMR. The Fleming Fund invests in strengthening surveillance systems through a portfolio of country grants, regional grants and fellowships managed by Mott MacDonald and global projects managed by partners.
