Meet the CPA's new Trustees
The Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) has elected and appointed three new Trustees. Learn more about the new additions below.
The CPA is delighted to introduce our three new Trustees who took office on 4th March 2025.
At our 2024 Annual General Meeting earlier this month, our existing Board of Trustees announced the appointment of one new member before our valued Councillors had the opportunity to elect two further Trustees via a blind vote.
As a registered charity, our Trustees are an integral part of how the CPA operates, governing and managing the organisation and ensuring we operate in accordance with our purpose. In doing so, they contribute to the effective delivery of our expanding remit, for the benefit of pharmacy patients in some of the most resource poor settings in the world.
Dr Davies graduated in Pharmacy at the University of Bath and worked as a hospital pharmacist, before joining the UCL School of Pharmacy where his research and PhD thesis focused on the future role of community pharmacy, and how future business and professional models of community pharmacy practice are likely to be structured. Dr Davies’ later research covered areas such as cardiovascular risk testing in pharmacies, the role of tele-pharmacy in delivering patient care, and the effects of automation and electronic transfer of prescriptions on the safety of medicines.Â
He left academia to help develop a digital online doctor startup that operates across Europe, acting as the Pharmacy Superintendent, Company Director and Registered Manager. Dr Davies pursued further research in health policy and was recently the Director for England at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, leading work on medicines shortages. He currently provides health policy consultancy for pharmacy organisations with research-based public affairs.
Dr Davies was appointed to the Board of Trustees by existing Board members.
