The TB Fact Card was launched by the CPA Councillor for India, Mr Devinder Pal, at IPA Headquarters, Kalina, Mumbai on 24th March, 2005, World Stop TB Day.
About 100 people attended the function. As well as Mr Devinder Pal, other dignitaries included IPA President, Mr Subodh Priolkar; Chairman of Communtiy Pharmacy Division of IPA, Dr M. B. Burande; Dr G.T. Ambe of Mumbai District TB Control Society; Senior Pharmacist Mr Ferzandi, State TB Dept; Mr T.B. Nair, Executive Secretary IPA; Mr S.D.
Joag, General Secretary IPA; Drs Raina, Saraf, Vadlamudi; Mr Nitin Maniar, Project Co-Ordinator and Mrs Manjiri Gharat, Project Committee Chairperson. Mr Prafull Sheth, who has given the Project much valuable support, was unfortunately unable to be present.
Many senior pharmacy professionals from industry, academia and pharmacy practice attended the function, along with doctors and clinicians from the State TB Department and their Who Consultant. The majority of the participating pharmacists and about 20 of the participating students, with Student Representative Mr Yash Jalundhwala, also attended. The event was covered by three press reporters and two TV channels; the event receiving detailed coverage in the evening news and in Mumbai newspapers.
