The Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) is a health partnership programme funded by the UK aid Fleming Fund to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR) globally

The Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) and the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) are seeking pharmacists with extensive experience in Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) to support the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS2) grant applications assessment process.
An honorarium from the CPA will be available for pharmacists who support this process.
We are anticipating a significant volume of competitive applications for the CwPAMS 2 funding and are seeking technical support for the selection process from UK-based pharmacists who have extensive experience in delivering AMS programmes within the UK.
The selection process will run between January and February 2023. The selection will be based on an assessment of the grant application and budget in the areas detailed in the Q&A document.
There will be a flexible working approach to the selection process and we would not expect grant assessors to take time away from their usual work commitments. Training will be provided to grant assessors.
Apply to be a CwPAMS 2 expert grant assessor. Deadline: 6th January 2023.
Eligibility criteria:
- UK based pharmacist
- Extensive antimicrobial stewardship experience
- Band 8a or above (or equivalent if non-NHS based)
- Available to support the selection process on a flexible basis during January and February 2023
- Not part of a CwPAMS 2 application
If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role prior to applying please email frances.garraghan@commonwealthpharmacy.org
What is the CwPAMS programme?
The CwPAMS scheme aims to leverage the expertise of UK health institutions and technical experts, and create opportunities for bidirectional learning, to strengthen the capacity of the health workforce and institutions in Commonwealth countries to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) challenges.
CwPAMS is funded by the UK Department of Health and Social Care’s Fleming Fund. The Fleming Fund invests in strengthening surveillance systems through a portfolio of country grants, regional grants and fellowships managed by Mott MacDonald, and global projects managed by partners. Grants allocated under CwPAMS 2 will make an important contribution to the wider Fleming Fund objectives, supporting the implementation of each country’s National Action Plan (NAP) on AMR, including AMS activities.
