CPA are delighted to announce that the winner of this year’s Travel Fellowship is Flandrie Habyarimana from Rwanda. Mr Habyarimana, a founding member and current President of the RWANDA COMMUNITY PHARMACITS UNION (RCPU), and recently elected CPA Regional Representative for Eastern and Southern Africa, used the bursary to travel to the CPA/PSA conference which took place in Sydney, Australia, in July 2017.
Mr Habyarimana’s interest is a strong one to explore together with others the global future of the pharmacy profession, and how it can add value expected by modern health care systems and services. His wish it to learn about the best practice and the latest innovations from local and international experts. Antimicrobial resistance being the global issue, his trip gave him the opportunity to participate in the AMR global form, stewardship training, refugee health and discussing together the ingredients of successful partnerships between Commonwealth countries.
On his return to Rwanda he shall be organizing more Conferences and training sessions to disseminate the knowledge and experience gained through the CPA Conference and meetings in order to improve pharmaceutical practice, pharmaceutical science and pharmaceutical education, as well as the protection of antibiotics.
We look forward to hearing back from Mr. Habyarimana following his trip in his Travel Fellowship Report which will be uploaded to the website soon.
